What that address is for
- Corrections. A date, a number, a citation or a characterisation that is wrong. Point at the page and, if possible, the source that shows the error. This is the most useful message this publication can receive, and the corrections policy sets out what happens next.
- Documents. Orders, filings, agency decisions, hearing records, notices and correspondence that belong in the public record of this subject. Include where the document came from, so it can be verified against the issuing source before anything is written about it.
- Questions about sourcing. Which document a particular sentence rests on, and where to read it. That question is always welcome; if a page cannot answer it, the page has a problem.
- Press and research enquiries, including from reporters, congressional staff, librarians and academics.
What this publication cannot do
- It cannot give legal advice. Everything here is journalism and reference. It is not advice, it does not create any professional relationship, and it is no substitute for a lawyer licensed in the relevant state.
- It does not evaluate anyone’s case. No page and no reply will assess whether a particular termination was lawful, whether a claim survives, or what a reader should do. That is a judgment only a reader’s own counsel can make on the reader’s own facts.
- It does not make referrals to lawyers, brokers, consultants or valuation firms, and it accepts nothing from any of them.
- It cannot search anybody’s records for them. Where the public files live and how to work through them is set out in how to find the record of a dealership’s 2009 termination; a document request specific to one dealership has to go to the court, the agency or the manufacturer that holds it.
What this publication will not accept

No advertiser, litigant, association or vendor buys a sentence here, and nobody is quoted as a favour. Requests of that kind are not declined case by case; they are declined categorically, and they will not be answered.
This site also takes no contributions or donations. There is nothing to fund, join, sign or subscribe to.
About documents you send
Material sent to this address is not published simply because it arrived. It is checked against the issuing court, agency or archive first, and it is described in terms of what it actually establishes. Private contact details — personal email addresses, home addresses, direct phone numbers — are not published, whether they arrive by email or turn up in the archive of this domain. If a message needs to be kept out of print, say so in it.
